A singular styrofoam module was created from linear geometry to allow for diversity in modular arrangement and light to flow from multiple perspectives. Focus was on simplicity, clean lines, and light flow. A single, angular module allows for variations in assembly. An occasional connector unit was made by adding an additional hexagon to the module. Hundreds of beveled hexagons were assembled to create a unique screen, where light can travel from all angles while respecting privacy. By allowing light to travel from all angles, it both obscures the image behind the screen and allows for diffuse light throughout the space in which the screen is covering.
The final screen stands 4 feet tall and helps create a dynamic space where one's eyes are constantly moving across the piece to decipher the modular pattern.
