A parametric continuation of rules-based drawings, these drawings were created with Grasshopper scripts and iterated with varying mediums on a pet plotter. The goal was to study boundaries: how they can be formed, altered, and enhanced in the absence of a definitive boundary.
No singular line bounds sections. The illusion of a marked boundary is created through varying mediums interacting with the pen plotter.

The first drawing below is made using a singular ballpoint pen. The ends of lines are thicker where the ballpoint stop for a singular moment before continuing onto a new line.
This second drawing was created with a chiseled marker. The less horizontal the line, the thinner the lines. Combinations of nearby lines of varying thicknesses form boundaries.
This third drawing was created with a ballpoint pen held close to the paper to visualize how the machine unintentionally creates new lines while drawing the intentional lines. A new type of boundary is created.
