Though Wellfleet, MA is a popular destination for summer tourists on the cape, it is also a close knit town of year-round residents. To further support the thriving community, this proposal gives the site layout and unit structure for a 46-unit affordable housing development. With respect to the town’s historical architectural style and behavior, the design provides a refreshing take on the typical layout of affordable housing; additionally, the cape-style duplexes support durable, sustainable building construction and local labor. This proposal was completed at MKA Architecture in partnership with The Community Builders.
